Vilnius, LITHUANIA – Jan. 20, 2011 – SolidACE, a company developing computer aided design and engineering tools within the SolidWorks® CAD environment for AEC and plant engineering markets, today announced that it will demonstrate BuiltWorks, the structural steel design and engineering application for SolidWorks environment, at the SolidWorks World 2011 Conference, being held from Jan. 23 – 26, 2010 in San Antonio, Texas. The 13th annual SolidWorks World Conference brings together designers, engineers, managers, and partners to discuss ideas, trends, and the technology shaping the future of product design. Show attendees will see how BuiltWorks and SolidWorks software allow customers to benefit from the integrated workspace that BuiltWorks provides in seamlessly combining various modeling, detailing, analysis tools and industry standard data exchange formats within the SolidWorks modeling environment.

As a SolidWorks Solution Partner, SolidACE has developed BuiltWorks to meet the AEC and plant engineering industries requirements for flexible and versatile tools that maintain true solid model-based SolidWorks architecture with extended integration to best vertical market structural and plant applications. BuiltWorks provides intelligent modeling tools for creation of 3D parametric models of steel structure by use of both SolidWorks weldment and BuiltWorks structural members as a part or assembly, as well as tools for structural analysis, connection detailing, automation enhancements for generation of drawings and steel fabrication. It is a cost effective system aimed at shortening the project throughput time, enhancing productivity and increasing profitability and the accuracy of results using SolidWorks as the professional structural framework.

“The BuiltWorks concept is clearly focused on taking the best of SolidWorks and adding functionality that will allow structural engineers to fully benefit from its inherent 3D parametric nature,” said CEO of SolidACE Dr. Vladimir Popov. “BuiltWorks expands the power of proven 3D modeling engine suitable for ‘next generation’ structural parametric design tools that sits inside SolidWorks. It also enables external best of breed vertical market products from AEC and Plant industries to be linked to SolidWorks establishing communication chain within and between companies involved in the design, analysis, fabrication and construction of industrial facilities, buildings and structures.”

“The SolidWorks Partner Program assures engineers that applications such as BuiltWorks from SolidACE can deliver the performance and functionality they expect when working within the SolidWorks design environment,” said DS SolidWorks Manager of Alliances Nick Iwaskow. “At SolidWorks World, design teams can learn more about how SolidWorks and BuiltWorks enable them to streamline product development, reduce errors, and be more creative by designing the industry specific steelwork models which also can be seamlessly integrated to structural analysis and design applications.”
